Osseo is a city in Hennepin County, Minnesota. It is about 12 miles northwest of downtown Minneapolis. Osseo is one of Minnesota’s smallest cities, occupying one-square-mile and having 2,430 residents at the 2010 census.
Community Osseo may be a small town, but it’s a busy one. Each year there are a variety of activities here, including the Lions Roar, Marching Band Festival, the Kiddie Costume Parade and a Christmas Tree Lighting with Santa in the Park. U.S. Route 169, County Road 81, and Central Avenue / Old Jefferson Highway are three of the main arterial routes in the community. Students here attend Osseo Area School District 279, which also serves Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park, Maple Grove, Plymouth, Corcoran, Dayton and Hassan. Osseo is one of the first cities in Minnesota to have a complete and fully operational city-wide wireless network available for use by residents, businesses and visitors.
